The World of GOP encompasses the GOP Community and how they do GOP.
Many goppers, even early from when GOP was created back in 12th of August 2008, have found such passion for the game that they hardly or never leave the Runecrafting Guild. Beloved fundamentalists professed their ardous love for this sacred game by dropping the tokens they gained from acting out their artistry, as these were useless except for in meanial sidecoursions from divinity that are the other parts of RuneScape.
There are several ways to play this game for different purposes. Here are some:
Normal games:
These are the everyday games you see played in world 61 or world 66 (the official F2P and P2P Great Orb Project worlds respectively). As many as five random players that often don't know each other stack up on each colour to pounce their usefulness and uselessness, coord and discord in a frustrating mosh-pit of attract, repel and spam-barriers. This is not recommended because it will tear at your soul and make you want to poke the eyes out of your team-mates and opponents with the attract wand, only to be deffed by some noob with an overpowered barrier wand fresh from watching far too popular anti-guides on youtube. By all means, though, discard wisdom and have fun!
Competitive games:
These are games where the true Art of GOP can unfold. You gather some people to play with and move to a calmer world. It can be within a friendly, non-competative setting. Serenity and control is a neat aspect of this. Not that it can't be the painfully combative, wall-recolouring (red) fun as players do their best to defeat each other with hard-earned GOP savvy. There are different formats to competitive games, such as: 1v1, 2v2, et.c..
In a 1v1, you face off your opponent, be it friend and/or life-long rival, in a duel, faced with stakes of face and glory. Since the minimum of players to start a game is two on each team, you have to get two "sittors" or "glitchors" that will help you into game, but not interfere with the game.
GOP tournaments usually have the formats of 1vs1 or 2vs2.
50/50:
This is a format of game purposed to prearrange the results of the game so that both colours get an equal amount of tokens. This is for lazy, craven or disinterested folks who want to grind tokens instead of enjoying the game, and Jagex has several times complained that this format is not within the "spirit of the game".
