A good tool to help express yourself quickly and communicate movements, angles and positions in GOP, is by use of Notation.
Orbs are labelled A through C alphabetically from the orbs that are farthest west and then south (WESN).
Holding Orb A for 2 ticks, including a prototick is denoted: "
0(1) + A(2)".
Prototicks are denoted with "
0(1)" every time they occur, and are written as such because it's the same as idling for one tick. Idling for x ticks can be written 0(x).
When repelling, note "
0(1) + rep.A(2)", and "
0(1) + att.B(2)" when switching back to attract wand. Elsewise, it is assumed you use attract wand.
When being dragged by the orb, note the movement in brackets alongside the manipulation of the orb.
A[2w2s](6)Moving your character is displayed by the number of tiles you are displaced with the direction this is.
1e1n(1) is walking one tile northeast, and it takes one tick.
3w2s(2) is running and walking a total of 3 tiles west and 2 tiles south, either by 1w(1)+2w2n(2), 2w1s(1)+1w1s(1), et.c. The number in parentheses is how many ticks this move takes.
Coordinate Notation is used when trying to describe the position of something, be it a gopper, an orb or an object. Consider the centre square in the middle of altar as coordinate [0,0] with [e,n] being the dimensions to either direction, with negative numbers for south and west.
You can apply to take the
Gop Literacy Course in the Gop School where you'll be taught, tested and certified as someone who knows how to communicate GOP.
