GOP Gathering

Hello and welcome to the thread for the monthly GOP Gathering. Here we will put away all the competitive aspects of GOP and just have fun. All are welcome to join us at this GOP Gathering.

This is a friendly event aimed to give "teh pro goppers" a fun environment to verse each other. It also gives new comers a chance to learn about the game along side some of the games most advanced players! So come on down and see what GOP's all about!

I think this would be a great idea!

It would be a great idea for the purpose of bringing attention to the strength and dedication of the GOP community. I think this is a good cause and plenty needed. Simply lighting up other people to the community and the art of GOP by bunching together lots of dedicated souls would help Jagex prioritise. The art would also gain traction among newcomers and new goppers would spawn!

There are people that have made gatherings like this a bit easier more feasible, and they will help us advertise such a repeatable event.

Though, sadly, none of these can be done with the GOP fc, Gee Oh Pee, is it currently stands, because Hoppeeee has decided to refuse access to it for those who aren't goppers yet.

Also, for the same purpose, we could try to have Jagex notice this website (Gop Academy), and include it into Fansite Support:

Maybe to call it something too? Simply "GOP Gathering" could potentially conflict with other GOP gatherings.

Since it's going to be monthly idk what else to call it.

A GOP gathering without a purpose sounds a bit ambitious. I think the purpose of this initiative could be better served by the occasional, maybe annually or quarterly, GOP tournament.

Is this initiative dead?

You find the funds, and a semi-annual or annual gop tournament is not a bad idea. (Summer is better for tournaments though...even a simple annual tournament is not a bad idea). I think monthly GOP gatherings is a bit ambitious at present.
