A simple post to ask about the + and - button. I feel the - button really isn't worth it and I'm pretty sure it can be removed. It's not nice when you know a person has pressed that button in disagreement to you and 1. might not have voted their oppinion, and 2. You don't even know who did it so you cannot discuss to this person in private unless they own up.

Just a little consideration of mine with minimal importance. :p

I agree! The negative-vote button doesn't really fit in with the morality of shutting up if you dislike something. If there's something one disagrees with, one should word one's reasons for it, rather than the lazy and unhelpful distain shown by pressing that button.

I would also encourage people to not use the positive vote button to enhance negative remarks about any person, as a general rule for civility, and it does not carry any 'official' weight from the forum. I would rather see the green bar be filled in spirit of thanking someone for their work or thoughts.

Hi, sorry for reviving an old topic, but it seems like someone with admin access/rights readded the option to downvote posts with the "-" button.

Since it was decided a few months ago on this very thread that the abovementioned button wasn't welcome on this site, I suppose it should be removed again.

@Admins: Feel free to delete this post after you've read it as it serves no further purpose.
